Your donation will make a difference
Catastrophic bushfires and ongoing drought have ravaged our beloved country.
The impact on families, their homes, our forests and wildlife has been devastating and heartbreaking, with no imminent reprieve in sight. Our hearts go out to the communities that have been affected.
These fires, combined with the ongoing long-term drought, have decimated already fragile animal populations. The number of animals believed to have perished as a result of these catastrophic conditions is estimated more than 1 billion with fires alone, many more when the effects of the drought are considered.
Wildlife is facing a crisis, they need your help now more than ever before.
Please donate urgently today to help save our wildlife from the devastation of the bushfires and drought.
All donations of $2 or more are fully tax-deductible for Australian residents.
Taronga launched the Koala Emergency Appeal in November last year and our community has been exceptionally generous in support. However, as the fires rage on, it's clear all Australian wildlife need our help.
Taronga has been involved in a number of emergency intervention operations, helping to save wildlife from the devastation of these bushfires and droughts by providing emergency shelter, medical care and rehabilitation for koalas, platypus, wallabies, bats and critically endangered frogs and fish.
But we cant do this without your kind and generous support
The urgent funds you give today will help Taronga address the emerging crisis, care for the rescued koalas in the Taronga Wildlife Hospitals as well as Taronga’s long-term work as we strive to turn around the trajectory of koala populations.
Over the Christmas and New Year period Taronga’s vets, vet nurses and zoo keepers have worked tirelessly to give these animals a fighting chance.
We have had an unprecedented number of injured wildlife coming into our wildlife hospitals, impacted by bushfires, heat stress and drought. Working with our partners Taronga is caring for platypus rescued from drought affected areas, and koalas rescued from the Blue Mountains by our partner Science for Wildlife, all of which will be released when it safe for them to be returned to the wild.
Please donate today, your support at this time is more critical and urgent than ever.
There is much to be done, but with Taronga’s drive and expertise and your ongoing support, we can ensure that Australian wildlife has a fighting chance.
